Glucose is considered a simple sugar or a monosaccharide. Other monosaccharides are fructose and galactose.
Each of these monosaccharides has the same chemical formula - C6H12O6 - but they have different structures. If we eat fructose or galactose, the liver rapidly converts these sugars in to glucose.
