Thomas R. Dorsch, M.D.

 

 

Dr. Dorsch was born in Hammond, Indiana and grew up in Lansing, Illinois which is a suburb of Chicago. He attended Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing and Valparaiso University. His medical school training was at Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois. He was an intern at Saint Francis Hospital in Peoria. He did his internal medicine and endocrinology training at Hines V. A. Hospital and Loyola. Dr. Dorsch is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology. He is a member of the Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Diabetes Association and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Dorsch came to Peoria and established a private practice in 1979. From 1985 to 1988 he was a full time faculty member at the Univesity of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria. In 1988 he and Dr. Chang started Endocrine & Diabetes, S.C. Dr. Dorsch contiues to be a faculty member at the University of Illinois and teaches 2nd year medical students, 4th year students, and internal medicine residents.

Dr. Dorsch is married to Josephine. She is the director of the medical library at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. They have two sons, Michael and Stephen. Mike gradutated from Miami University in Ohio and is in graduate school at the University of Illinois. Steve graduated from the University of Iowa and is in graduate school at Idaho State University.
