Jeffrey Y. Chang, M.D.
Jeffrey Y. Chang was born in Seoul, Korea and grew up there. He attended medical school in Yonsei University Medical Center. Following medical school he did a rotating internship at Baylor Medical School. He did his internal medicine residency at Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago. His endocrinology fellowship was at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. Dr. Chang came to Peoria in 1986 and joined the full-time teaching faculty at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria. In 1988 he and Dr. Dorsch left the medical school and founded Endocrine & Diabetes, S.C. Dr. Chang is a member of the Endocrinology section of Saint Francis Medical Center and he is active in teaching internal medicine residents from the University of Illinois. Dr. Chang is a charter member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. He has been elected to fellowship in the American College of Endocrinology (F.A.C.E.). Dr. Chang has a special interest in diseases of the thyroid. He is federally licensed for delivering radioactive iodine therapy. He is the director of the Thyroid Treatment Center of Illinois. Dr. Chang is married to Jean. Jean is a pharmacist and she is working partime at Walgreens. They have 3 children, 1 son and 2 daughters. Esther is a senior at Dunlap High School and starts college in the fall. Stephanie is a junior at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora, Illinois, and Stephen is in 6th grade at Dunlap Middle School. Dr. Chang enjoys golf and travel.
